Juarez Elementary PTO was established in 2013 and since has committed to raising funds to enhance and support the educational experience at Juarez Elementary. We exist to foster the relationship between school, home and the community for our students and their families. We are 100% volunteer run and 100% funded by our families and community partners. The Juarez PTO Board consists of four volunteer positions voted in annually in May. Board members consist of parents, teachers, or community members with a passion for serving our students and families. Our Board works closely with Juarez Administration and Staff Representatives to gain an understanding of how best to engage our students and families to meet their needs.

Our family has been part of the Juarez community since 2016. I have been a member of the PTO for 7 years and have been on the Board for 6 years, serving as Treasurer from Aug. 2019- Dec. 2021, and as Board President since December 2021 through present.
Professionally, I hold a BSW having practiced in mental health, financial, and military social work. I currently work in the banking industry. My education and employment have provided me with leadership opportunities which serve me well in the role I hold within our PTO.
Personally, I grew up in Serra Mesa and attended Juarez and Taft Middle. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 12 years. We have a 13-year-old son who attended Juarez K-5 and we have our 3rd grade daughter who has attended since TK. We love the community feel of our school and have become close to many Juarez families and staff, helping to create a solid foundation for our PTO. In my spare time I enjoy baking, music and crafts, happy hours and other social events, and playing tourist around town. If you see me at an event or on campus come say hi or introduce yourself, I love meeting new parents!
I have served as VP since my son was in 1st grade. My daughter also attends Juarez as a 3rd grader. I have been active in the PTO since Fall of 2018.
As the years have progressed my contributions and participation have increased. During my time on the board, we have increased our budget times nine, increased our contributions and expanded programs, created better organization, and better communication. The current president and I have brought our PTO into the 21st century with online documents storage, web page, payment and donation systems, streamlined CI, and multi-channeled lines of communication.
Hi! My name is Patty Leming, and I am the PTO Secretary. I have been with the district for 30 years. I have a 14-year-old daughter who attended Juarez from preschool to 5th grade and just finished the dual language program at Taft Middle School and will be starting at Kearny High School this year where she will have the opportunity to continue with her Spanish studies at Mesa College. I was a teacher at Juarez for 19 years, all the way back to when the Dual Language program was just a dream to it’s very first year. And although I am no longer teaching there, I have spent most of my career at Juarez and I still have children in my life who are Juarez students. So for all of those reasons and more, this beautiful and charming small school and it’s supportive community continues to be near and dear to my heart. It is my honor to continue to serve the Juarez family!
In my full-time job, I am the Director of Finance for a chain of private pharmacies that serve the long-term care population. I create and manage the budget to ensure the business financial plan is met, provide monthly and quarterly financial analysis, manage the billing and collection teams, and oversee the purchasing functions of the business. I educate the operations team on the impact of operations/workflow on key financial metrics, as well as manage the approval process for all expenses, ensuring all bills are correct prior to submission.
My job responsibilities and education provide ample qualifications in the ability to serve as custodian of the PTO's finances, collect revenue, pay authorized expenses, follow all financial policies of the PTO, and hold financial records.
I am currently in my second year as treasurer.
