Juarez PTO hosts and sponsors dozens of in-school activities and after school events throughout the year. Our events are only successful with the support of our parents, and we encourage all families to volunteer and help in any way possible. No matter your work schedule or experience level, PTO has a volunteer opportunity for you!

Volunteer Requirements:

📝 Complete a volunteer packet (Available in the school office)

📸 Present a copy of a valid photo ID or drivers license

✔️ Tuberculosis (TB) clearance (Assessments available on Fridays by the school nurse; Valid for 4 years)

*All requirements must be met by October 30, 2026

Pick up student from class for their photo

Dia De Los Muertos

Distribute collection bins to classrooms & around campus
Sort, inspect, & prepare food for delivery
Deliver food to Serra Mesa Food Pantry

Fall Treat the Teachers

Donate coffee, breakfast, lunch, & snacks to Juarez teachers & classroom support staff during Conference Week
Organize a meal contribution with your class parents to donate a meal or snacks to staff

Set up, decorate, & breakdown the event
Assit during Classroom Preview Day & help students make gift wish lists
Cashier purchases & help students shop according to their budget

Juarez Shoe Drive

Paleta Sales

Weekly Fridays 3-4PM | Front Lawn

Load & unload paletas during event

Supervise the run before school

PTO Class Liaison

All Year

Volunteers are needed to:

Help support your child’s class by ensuring there are parent volunteers for classroom activities and events throughout the year
Act as the class contact between the parents, and the PTO
Check in on ClassDojo and help organize parents to volunteer for classroom activities or special events
You don’t need to attend every activity or be available all the time—just help connect and coordinate volunteers when needed

Yearbook Committee

All year

Volunteers are needed to:

Spearhead design & layout
Edit photos and curate selection
Photograph events and candid shots

Gardening Committee

At your leisure

Juarez Garden

Volunteers are needed to:

Help in the Garden with the Students
Garden Jobs:
Filling the new planters with soil
Painting garden benches and signs
Weeding, planting, and general garden maintenance
Donations: soil, gravel, seeds, tools, donations to the Garden Program (Venmo PTO “Garden”)

Staff Appreciation Committee

At your leisure | Office

Volunteers are needed to:

Plan Themes and Decorations and prepare appreciation spaces.
Organize Gifts & Appreciation. Prepare and distribute staff gifts.
Coordinate meals, snacks, setup, and cleanup to help staff feel appreciated all year.
This includes all Staff Appreciation Days, BSS & Custodian, Paraprofessional, Librarian, Teacher, Administrative professionals etc. As well as Staff Birthdays.

Fundraiser Committee

At your leisure | B1

Volunteers are needed to:

Plan and organize fundraising opportunities outside of school and provide fundraising support for PTO events, including Adopt-a-Family donations, student incentive prizes, and securing sponsors for the Fun Run and Carnival.
Coordinate logistics including vendor communication, business partnerships, sponsorships, and donations.
Complete required paperwork in advance to ensure approval for raffle fundraising events ie Carnival.
Support outside setup, event operations, and follow-through to help ensure successful fundraising efforts that benefit school programs and student experiences.
